I know what the OP means I hate it when my opponent can randomly checkmate me even though I have way more pieces then him! It's so cheesy. He would sacrifice a few pieces and then force me into a checkmate, it's not FAIR!!!!! :( it CLEARLY does not justify a win. CLEARLY. CHEESY!
Idiots and checks

Well, if perpetual check is possible, then that person is not losing: the endless checking keeps you from achieving your ultimate goal of checkmate, so if you can't get out of them, it doesn't matter how many extra pieces you may have; you can't ever mate, and thus can't win.
This and stalemate are huge rule complaints by lower rated players, but it's a part of the game; I suggest you just get used to it, as the rules aren't officially changing anytime soon, and also understand that these rules make for some interesting saving opportunities for someone who is seemingly lost. I mean what are you gonna do, tell someone to resign because you can't get out of their checks? You'll just have to add this to your other techniques for winning a game: making sure these cheapos can never happen!
You can capture most material and still not able to win the game due to some oversight, forcing a 3 repetition draw is a legit tactic
here's 1 of my game where I forced a repetition draw
Ok I'm going to be picky here and call you out because basically you and me and everyone else are calling out rusBor for being ignorant and obnoxious. So, if you're going to join the party you should know what you're talking about.
What you posted is NOT A FORCED PERPETUAL CHECK.
Never said it was, I posted "forced a 3 move repetition draw". I was showing the OP other ways he could slip up and lose a game where he has superior material and I assume he didn't know about the 3 move rule either due to this thread existing in the first place
technically it wasn't forced and I was just banking on opponents within 500 of my rating to be very weak at endgame or not knowing about the rule and sometimes they do fall for 3 move repetition/checkmate despite having superior material
You must've been reading someone elses post because I wasn't on the bandwagon for insulting the OP

Yeah, what about that Morphy opera box swindle? He only had like a bishop and a rook left while the other side still had that much plus a Queen and a Knight. OBVIOUS LOSS FOR WHITE amirite? But he pulls this dumb move out of his ass and acts like he's won just 'cos he can trick his way into taking their King next move. That's so unrealistic - real life doesn't work that way at all!

Sir, you didn't "force" anything. That is the point.

I claimed a pretzel and Dave's Hotdog's. I am so glad he expanded into the pretzels business. He has delicious pretzels.

So I've already encountered one of these a-holes. What happens is that at end game they find it amusing to check you with their queen, and you have no defenses so you move out of the way, and they then check you again. You move back. They check you... etc etc and they do this forever. They know they can't check mate you and they are losing, but they keep doing this to annoy you.
Are there some rules against this? e.g if they do this enough they auto-lose or something?
If they are continually checking and you can't get out than they are not losing, its a perpetual learn the rules of the game before you go around calling people AHoles

Damn! A draw!

I played chess the other day. My opponent got his pawn to the other side of the board so I gave him a queen. But no!... he refused, he put a knight on that square instead, which immediately checkmated me. What an unfair idiot!!!~!!!1!!
What's worse, if he had just promoted to queen, I could have checked him perpetually for a draw. That would've been the fair result.
Thats a nice reverse psychology

That is a nice one.

I had an experience of repeated checking not long ago, but for some reason, my opponent was allowed to do it more than three times - a lot more than three times!
If it was the same position repeating, the reason he was "allowed" to do it more than three times was because you didn't claim the draw.

Perpetual check or stalemate in a losing position is a glorious thing!!
