Ok yeah. I try not to be rude, I really do. The aggressiveness is a character trait I cannot do anything about.
Thanks for responding.

Skilled chessplayers have their fair share of intelligence, but the market requires from potential moneymakers to have certain social and technical skills, which come after professional experience in some popular domain.
And what photo collection is complete without oil and gas billionaire, and former World Champion, Anatoly Karpov
https://nezhmet.wordpress.com/category/chess-players/anatoly-karpov/
He became the first millionaire playing chess (now a billionaire in real estate and oil investments).

The current issue of New in Chess has a tantalizing blurb on whether Anatoly Karpov is a billionaire. In January, a Russian company called Petromir reported that they had found a new gas field in eastern Siberia, and financial analysts valued the company at more than one billion dollars. Karpov, the world chess champion from 1975 to 1985, was once the sole registered owner of Petromir, although it is unclear what stake he has in the company today. It would be interested if perhaps the greatest positional player in history was also by far the richest.

Thanks for the further research.
First of all, "Chessopedia" on Chess.com is not a reliable source for anything. You strike me as at least a college student. You should know how to evaluate sources.
Your "Nezhmet.wordpress.com" story relies on the Paul Hoffman blog you cited, which bills itself as:
"Paul Hoffman on science, food, words, chess, and everything else that's big fun"
This begs the question, who the @#%@ is Paul Hoffman and what gives him any authority to comment on Karpov's finances with any credibility. It is important to note that the Hoffman story cites "Newinchess" as its source.
So then let us find the Newinchess source to see what that is. Is it reliable? Is it peer reviewed?
Also, why did the first source you cited retract its claims last week?
Furthermore, not that it matters, but Wikipedia's article on Karpov says nothing about this oil story.
Blogs are even less reliable than Wikipedia, because the blogger can literally say anything he wants and is not subject to editorial oversight.
The last time this subject came up, "Irontiger" posted links to Karpov's tax returns for the last few years.
Thanks for responding, however.
Whnd everything else that’s big fun.
GMs could be billionaire businessmen, but they love chess much more than money, which is not bad, is it?
money don't make you happy and nobody will remember you.. unless you're Bill Gates, Steve Job, or Brad Hughes.
Play great chess and chess players will remember you.
Ok, I'm back.
The sources don't credibly allege anything about Karpov. I re-iterate:

Oh yeah? You would have no trouble providing a link to this post then.
Comical how the "please provide sources" comes from someone so unreliable.

Thanks for the ad hominem argument. The thread in which you posted this was deleted. In any case, what do you think of this Karpov rumor?

______________
Typical ad hominem rubbish from someone that cannot think for himself. This kid posted an idiotic rumor about Karpov that's been going around for years, due to Susan Polgar's lazy writing. What is wrong with asking him for some reliable sources?
He who makes the assertion must provide the proof when challenged, no?
If all this kid has is blogs and "chessopedia" he has failed to present his evidence.
Now go back to where ever they leave you at night, little troll.
Please show Mr. Handpuppemeister the respect he deserves.
Do not call him "little" troll.
