Karpov already won! (On forfeit)
If Fischer would played Karpov for the World Champion, who would win?

Royal-Prince, the fact is Karpov was the furthest thing from "kind and humble".
He is almost universally hated by the Soviet era GMs for being a brown-nosing a-hole who used his position to control which of his colleagues could travel abroad etc.
An interesting statement ... It would be interesting to see the source where you took that
My impression of Karpov is that he never was the most humble and popular of the top players, read for example this article:
http://en.chessbase.com/post/karpov-i-don-t-understand-these-idiots-

Well ... I really don't know what would be Fisher's or the same Teimour Radjabov's or any other GM's reaction if they arrived to a tournament on a delayed airplane and for that reason the game they missed had to be time-forfeited ... I would defend neither Radjabov nor Karpov in that situation

I met Karpov back in the seventies when he gave a simultaneous display, He was by far the most Impressive player I have ever seen, he won all the games easily and unlike other top players I have seen give simultaneous displays he never once paused to think, immediately playing his move as soon as he arrived at the next board in line, I think I lasted about 10 moves against him....

Karpov was in good time for the game though, but claimed to be tired after not having slept well and wanted to play his first game another day. According to GM Rogers Radjabov offered to play the game on the last day of the event, but Karpov had travelled to Valencia in other business instead of attending the first round. At the same time he had a representative offer draw in the game against Radjabov after it started. From what I've understood the participants discussed what to do, and Radjabov was advised not to accomodate Karpov.
According to the article many of the other participants were annoyed about Karpov's request since he according to them was "notorious for such incidents". Karpov called the other players idiots, refused to turn up for his next game, and withdrew from the tournament. I don't know to what extent Karpov had a case, but the Chessbase article does indicate how the other top players saw him.

fabelhaft, the quantity of time a player was World Champion does not means he is better than other. Emanuel Lasker was WC for 22 years! No one was for so long as him. But he is not the best ever.
Fischer don't even tried to defend the title in 1974. He played with the WC Spassky (1972) because he was "tired" of winning the US tournament and because the americans GM asked him to play against the soviets.
After 20 years out of the chess competitions, he just came and played again with Boris Spassky, and won! (1992).
Karpov is a great player, and a great person. But will never be at the Fischer's level. Many people don't like Bobby Fischer because of his personality and comments about jews, america and soviets. But he is the best.
We can't compare players datas because he left the chess. How to compare, for example, Magnus Carlsen rating of 2014 with the Bobby Fischer's in 1972? The only way is to see wich of then made more "brilliant" things in chess.
Fischer not only was the best as he introduced the most part of the actual chess rules. Do you know this 2 seconds increase in the clock per move, when above 10 secondes, was a Fischer creation? And FIDE use it until today...
Other players are better than Karpov, like José Raúl Capablanca, Kasparov, Carlsen and maybe Emanuel Lasker.

Haha, don't worry! People here are just having a high level conversation about this great universe of chess. We are all together... ;)

No. Fischer resigned the "FIDE" title by telegram. There was no match for Karpov to win.

In 2003, at the age of 52, over 30 years of not so quiet chess life ... many would think of having rest
Sorry earlier, but I wasn't sure if you were purposely trying to be mean. Anyway, I said that because the Fischer vs Kasparov thread was locked evidently because of people just having heated debates over something that couldn't happen. I just want us all to be friendly to each other. If everyone's isn't doing what I just did then I guess the thread is fine. I ask then, would you forgive me? Sorry! Could you unblock me then chess_gg?
I guess it is weird I don't play to other people. But I guess my purpose is to wait until I improve. To explain usually once I fail, its hard to pick myself back up. So now, I am studying, aquiring ideas and principles to get better. I just want to postpone playing until I imagine i am comfortable with my game. I AM SORRY. I only said that because I thought you were being somewhat personal or judgemental of my comment. Otherwise, looking back at it, I see you were trying to make a point. I didn't mean those things. I'm not that kind of person. And I don't want to be. I only ask of your forgiveness. Please don't walk away! I just ask of your forgiveness and unblocking of me?
There was another rumour that Fischer played a match with Larry Christiansen just before his return match with Spassky, which Fischer won 3 and a half to a half anyone know if this is true ?, if it is then I guess once again the games will be unobtainable.....
I can confirm I heard EXACTLY the same rumour at the time.
Thanks again nobodyreally, It's a shame we will never get to see these games.....
