Fischer got the money forchess players increased because he was American against the Russsians and it made a good narrative.
He seemed to have the weird attitude that he would rather make nothing if some one else wasgoing to get even a small cutof his earnings.
It is impressive that Kasparov starting off as Soviet citizen ended up starring in a Superbowl ad due to his chess ability.
Fischer was mentally ill, very sad and inspiring at the same time. I really don't know who would of won though. I think Fischer probably would of taken him until the 80s is my guess.

We have to remember this isn't about who they played, their mental condition, their anything for that matter. This is about how well they played chess.
Fischer was a genius and world champion and contribute a lot in the chess world; like higher pay for chess players.
