If somebody dies during a chess game, what happens?

It reminds me of that sketch:
"What kind of victory would that be?"
"An easy one."

Just kidding.

if he dies during a chess.com game, the winner starts a thread complaining about people abandoning their games.

Happened to me.
Well... I wasn't the one who died. He was two boards down from me. Heart attack.
The Tournament Director's comment: "He was losing anyway".

so that's what happens, the TD says "he was losing anyway". then someone slaps a pie into the TD's face.

I read that the former world correspondence chess champion Cecil Purdy died during an over the board game, his last words were: "I have a win, but it will take time".

Allow his clock to run out of time, then inform the TD so your victory may be recorded. After that, who knows.

In correspondence chess, there is the "dead man's defence" - playing slowly in the hope that one's opponent will pass away before they can finish the game. That probably doesn't work as well in bullet or blitz though.

My first book on Chess was Purdy's. He was a great man, and has claims to be the pride of Australian Chess, a country rightly not regarded as being famous for its Chessplayers.
Anyone for Cricket?

Bullet removes the waiting.
I do not understand.
You mean, if the opponent is playing a bullet chess game and dies by a bullet, then what happens?
And if the opponent is playing in the WCC (like the WCC 2016), standard games, and dies by bullet?
