Check out chessable. It has plenty of courses you can buy and gift him. If I got a course from there as a gift I would be really happy
If you could get any chess-related present what would it be?

You could try and find a antique chess set or something. As Marqumax said chessable is good, and a chess related book would be good too. If he doesn't have chess.com premium yet you could get him that too. Other then that it is really up to you and what you think he will like

Does he have a diamond membership here? If not, that would be a good gift. Or gold or platinum
Yeah

My next chess-related purchase is going to be a bone set. But we don't know your guy or if he even cares about that kind of stuff. But is you are looking for something, maybe, to get ME....yeah, that's what I want....a bone set

I bought him a diamond membership a while ago so he's already got one of those

Brilliant! Perfect girlfriend🤩
One thing NOT to buy. For a long time I wanted a chess set with metal pieces that were nice looking ancient soldiers. When I finally got one I soon noticed that it is difficult to play with them as they don't look the same as "normal" chess pieces.
That was wasted money

I was literally thinking how cool a board like that looked. So glad I read this comment!
I think I'll stick with an e-board, seems like the safe option that he'll get the most practical use out of

"I want to get him a present that helps him play chess more and better." Then buy him a book. "My Great Predecessors" Kasparov, "Test of Time" Kasparov, "My Life and Games" Tal.
"I just want to see him happy" Having you as his girlfriend is probably more a source of happiness than chess or a chess related present
"I was considering getting him a SquareOff board" ++ Do not buy boards or pieces sets, it is a waste of money and will only collect dust. It will not make happy. It will not make him play chess better.

Best present in my opinion would be a nice quality chess board and a nice quality chess pieces BOTH made out of wood.
You better ask for suggestions not in here ,because you are in different category , you need to go equipment category and not general chess discussions.

My boyfriend's birthday is in September. He picked up playing chess at the beginning of this year and is now obsessed, always playing games on chess.com whenever he can. It's the sweetest. I want to get him a present that helps him play chess more and better. If you guys could get any chess-related present in the world, what would it be? No budget, I just want to see him happy and able to do what he loves!
I was considering getting him a SquareOff board but no dedicated players seem to love it. I've gotten many recommendations for a DGT board - which board is best? Where should I buy from?
Thank you so much, in advance.
