It's been a pleasure ladies and gents, this is, without doubt the best website I've ever used. Unfortunately, it's become apparent to me that chess no longer has a place in my life. Thank you for the wonderful times I've had here, I wish you all the best.

Cheerio,

Ed.

You've been around since I can remember.  Never got to know you but will say farewell.

guess I may be your replacement, Have not been here very long!  I always said to myself and my wife chess is the biggest waste of time because you can be doing so much more productive things. But with that said there are times that everything is done and time to kill, how about a game of chess?  lolol

Hope you will not walk away for ever, you play quite well and if you are going to Berlin, you will be surrounded by alot of chess lovers!!!!  Good Luck and success!

Dibs on his points and chess.com t-shirt.

yeah I mean think of the countless hours that could have been spent slouching on the couch with a can of beer watching American Idol or some other reality TV show? That's precious time you will never get back.

I think my original delivery was better. Something like:

"You can't rush the grieving process but I think I've reached Acceptance. I was stuck in Denial for a couple of minutes."

I only remember because I cracked myself up too.

It was brilliant! And, it was in my scariest thread ever: "What just happened?" Laughing

That was a fun thread. Seems to me it was a guy who said we could understand him best by paying attention to what he wasn't saying.

Of course, once he left, there was a lot he wasn't saying. That provoked the question, "What's he not saying now?"

There should be a Hall of Fame for threads.

There have been several attempts at a contest but they have been horrifically disorganized, which is as it should be.

I wish I could remember the titles of the many threads, that had me laughing endlessly! I try to remember the names of the people, but the thread titles, I'm very foggy about. Otherwise, I would start a "Hall of Fame for threads"!Laughing

Not wanting to take away from the OP message, but I would like to address "arichess's comment, something about drinking beer and watching TV if one is not playing chess?  Well it is obvious you do not own a home, married, or have other commitments and chess is the only driving force in your present life. But you will be very surprised that some people other them maybe the professional chess masters have other pleasures in life that is much more enjoyable then watching TV with a can of beer, like sailing a twenty four foot yacht, hiking through the forest with two dogs, taking the wife out to dinner, then of coure maintaining the home and the grounds.  There is so much more I can add to the list when I am playing chess and wasting time, so I have to be very frugal when I play chess to make sure first my major priorities have been taken care of before I can afford my self to sit down with a can of beer and play chess!Cool
