Chess is not for everybody. It is quite possible you are what you say you are. But also remember that skill at chess is not the same as common intelligence. Any chess player will tell you that there are way too many skilled chess players who are in general either dumb or stupid people.
Chess also doesn’t help you with anything in life. It is something some people do to entertain themselves. Some players try to have a career with chess, but most fail, or even if they succeed there is very little money in it.

Don't worry, we all think we're dumb no matter how good we get 
The only thing we can do is not make the same mistake too many times, and that progress should be celebrated
