Do you find that you're imagining what you're doing before doing it?

In my mind, I write whole conversations with another person before I actually talk to them. Then its really annoying when they go off script...

So you have an internal script of what you're going to say to someone and you know what they'll say to you so you know the responses and questions. That's interesting.

You don't see yourself applying it in other areas besides chess?

Yes, exactly.  But for some reason, as I pointed out at the end, those other people often do not say what they are supposed to...

That is interesting. Perhaps you should read "Strenghts Finder 2.0" by Tom Rath (Gallup); this book has nothing to do with chess, but is an easy-read that sounds applicable here. It is essentially a book on personality, based on a 40 year study. Additionally, with the book comes a one-time-use online assessment to see what personalities of the book's 34 types are prominent in you.

When I took the assessment, my top three were: 1) Strategic 2)Ideation 3)Connectedness (if I recall, I am sure of the first two though)

I wonder if what you describe here is a form of "strategic" manifested within this anticipation for an outcome. I do not write conversations out like this in a script, but the elements of looking ahead parrallel nicely. "Strategic" entails a definition, similar to connotation; but it is somewhat different. This trait is something one is born with, and is a distinct way of thinking, but perhaps this describes what is being experienced.

YOURBEURRY, this may be what we speak of - personality is interesting as a whole though.
