Important Ideas and Plans for Black against 1.d4

I want to learn some good plans for black after the following moves. In most cases i get a bad position out of this opening as Black.

Strangemover

From this particular move order I prefer b6 instead of d5, planning to play Bb7 and deciding later how is best to challenge whites pawn centre (c5 or d5 (maybe both) or just d6). Also if Nc3 I always would go Bb4 pinning the knight instead of Be7 which is way too passive for me. If a3 you can then decide between Bxc3 or Be7 but at least ask white the question does he want to spend a move on a3? Then you have possibilities of Ne4 before white has castled (combining well with the bishop on b7 and hitting the c3 knight again forcing white to decide how to defend it) and you have options to maybe play f5 establishing firm control of e4, possibly starting a kingside attack on a good day. Nb8-d7-f6 is a typical route for the Nb8 to go, again controlling e4. If white ever goes Bg5 pinning your Nf6 you should go h6. Then Bxf6 Qxf6 is quite good for black so likely is Bh4. Then g5 Bg3 and now Ne4 and you can take Bg3 or Nc3 with this Ne4 if white attacks it (probably better to take the bishop) In your diagram black simply allows white to completely dictate the direction of the game by making a committal choice d5 and a passive Be7.
