hi everyone! how would u recommend I improve? i have been shown a few chess books, which i will slowly go over as time permits. Looking at my game history, what are some major weaknesses I need to work on in order to rise up the ranks?
.
My performance has been a bit lackluster lately.

how old are you (this is actually important in chess improvement?) Don't need to give the exact age but say like kid, preteen, teen, young adult, etc

Lackluster in what aspect? Time management? Opening theory? Endgame theory? Issues with staying calm and focused? Pattern recognition? Positional gameplay? Tactical gameplay?

Stormy-Boy-2007

Lackluster? You’re at a peak at the time of me writing this.

I think analyizing top GM games who plays the same openings as you do, would improve your openings and understanding midgame ideas.

Ig you need a hell lot of opening prep. Not many lines, but few lines with a very deep prep.
