Improving with tactics

I really want to improve my chess and many people have told me to do tactics.So I bought Back to Basics:Tactics by Heisman.I wanted to know what tactics book should i study next and what rating can i get to by doing tactics?

Since you have one of Coach Heisman's book's, you might as well visit his website too.  danheisman.com   Coach has book recommendations there including a list of tactics books.   Obviously no one can tell you what rating you can reach just by tactics because we're all a little different.  That said, I have seen the figure 1800 mentioned a few times as possible with just strong tactics and basic opening principles.  Hope that helps.

i tried tactics trainer but i can only do 3 per day.any books u reccomend?

1001 Winning Chess Sacrifices and Combination by Fred Reinfeld is a pretty coveted tactics book for any chess player's library. Studying Master games also helps and should go hand in hand with tactics training, not to mention learning the openings!
