Cool  What one thing did you learn or do that improved your game the must?

Undecided And what is the best way to get better? other then getting bet up by good players or analizing games. ( its boring and painful lol) Sealed

There are no short cuts for improving. Work, work, and then more work...is the only way to improve-

a. Analyse winning and loosing games.

b. Training in tactics, endgames, and openings.

c. Play, play and more play with opponents with higher ratings.

d. Chess Mentor and Videos.

e. If you try your best with all the above, and you can't see any improvement...then pick up monopoly instead.

At your level, I'd bet anything you hang pieces like no tomorrow.

RR is usually right about this. I at first disagreed, but then I reviewed the past 20 games, and every time, either I hang my pieces or I miss when my opponent hangs his...

Most of the time this is the problem for those rated below 1500...

There's a lot more variables when above 1500 and up to 1900. Like opening theory, different types of mates, different patterns, various tactics, variations, and mistakes that are not as obvious.
