Chess is the quintessential Cinderella story. A pawn becoming a Queen. Almost cliche.

So you watch what you say before you defame an art that is so dear to so many people.

An observation.

I wanted to donate a Western chess set to a Chinese buffet restaurant. (I already donated a Chinese chess set).

I wanted to donate this one. It's a shrunk down version of the USCF set. (Shrunk down is good for small size on a restaurant table.) And it's cheaper.

But I can't. It doesn't look right. The restaurant is old fashioned and made out of wood. Wooden benches, wooden table, wooden building. I had to go with something that at least look like wood. I went with this.

The Black and White set is not "black and white". It is colorless. It fits perfectly in a Film Noir or The Twilight Zone, in a black-and-white movie.

Black and White are not colors. They are absolute. Light and Darkness.

They belong in a Film Noir (aptly named) not in Real Life.

Yep, this is the right answer. Mine was for a joke. In my headcanon (I'm a freak that has a headcanon for chess. It's not that complicated tho just for why the pieces move like that and stuff) I like to think White is evil ( no racism here) bc it started the war instead of the usual black is evil.
