Incomplete game I played (analysis)

I'm sorry if this isn't where I am supposed to post this, but I didn't think this would fit in the game analysis section as it's not even complete. I was playing and the other player abandoned, and I was hoping to see how I'm doing with my openings thus far.

I annotated as much as I could to possibly explain my thinking. I now don't feel so blind going into games now, and feel like my moves do have some rhyme or reason. I suppose that in itself is a good thing, and just wanted to get some early advice on if I'm making major errors. Thank you everyone!

It looks like he played Alekhine's Defense.  With your second move you offered to let him capture your e pawn.  Is that really what you meant to do?

He walked as pxb wins.....

Casual_Joe, I'm not sure. I think I was either hoping he wasn't noticing or figured I'd capture it (again, hoping he would make a wrong move).

You had the right idea to develop pieces trying to control the center.  You need to make sure you don't hang any pieces though.  Obviously 5. d6?? is a blunder.  This is why you need to work on tactics and avoid losing pieces.  After 1. nf6, white usually responds with 2. e5, but he didnt, he hung his pawn which you should've taken.

2. nc6 is a fine developing move, but I don't understand what you mean when you say you did this to move your bishop.

3. e5 is a good move here it puts a pawn in the center, opens up your dark squared bishop and prevents him from playing e5 himself.

4. I like your Bc5 move.  White is threatening to chop your knight and double your kingside pawns which will make them weak.  But you still have the option of  castling queenside and in compensation for the doubled pawns you'll have the bishop pair which is an advantage in itself and access to the open g file for your rook.  Be7 may have been a safer move for a beginner though.

5. d4? is a mistake on his part it just hangs another pawn but you didnt see it and responded with d6??.  Highlighting again the need to work on tactics.  Moves like this can be prevented by simply just going slow and taking your time calculating.

I should say I just realized my annotations come up at the wrong time. I was in fact the white in this game, but your advice still stands as it goes over both very well. Definitely made some errors, and they missed some, and I did, too. Watching videos as I type this, and been reading away with an occasional game to put the knowledge to a game.
