Incremental Time in Live Games

It seems odd to me that so few people play with incremental time. I'll admit that I am used to there only being a delay, and the time not actually being added to your clock. But without anything, games end up being played as though the safest and fastest seen move is played. Not the best. And also if I spend the great portion of my time analyzing while my opponent plays a quick move just to deplete my clock, I should have a chance (3 sec increments lets say)to see if my planning could come to fruition.

I know there are people that agree with me, but I dont see very many who play live chess on chess.com. In the seek window, im usually the only one with anything more than a 1 sec increment (which seems to be played for lag). Where as 3 sec is plenty of time to make your moves in a turn.... if you have a well thought plan already.

Whenever i've played in tournaments or other players in person, there is ALWAYS incremental time. Not added to the clock, just a delay. Becuase everyone knows how week it is to lose on time when your position is superior.
