Insufficient material...draw

Hi, i have a little question for the Blitz draw:

My opponent ran out of time, but i had the "poorer" material (maybe 3 points). So my question is, when did the material becomes "insufficient"? Is it insufficient even if i had only a one point deficit (pawn)? Or does it become insufficiant if one loses more than 3 points (maybe bishop)? Maybe the actual rating has an influence? Undecided

It is insufficient if you can´t mate with the material.
For instance if you have a king and a bishop/knight you can't mate so it's a draw.

Sounds good, but we both had more than 10 points with minimum one bishop and more than five pawns?!

Sorry, my bad. Mixed it up with another game. Had only the King left. Thanks for the answers. Smile
