intentional disconnects

i see chess.com has same problem ICC has--players who intentionally disconnect in lost or unfavorable positions instead of just resigning.  i've played six games and 3 times 3 different players did the disconnect ploy.

Disconnect??  So they just stop playing? or what?

happened to me just now.  except my opponent reconnected to see if the game was still on and typed "fufufufu" before disconnecting again, which i except is some expletive repeated four times.  lol.  should i name the opponent? ;-)

If they bothered to reconnect, chances are that it was an unintentional disconnect.  It does happen.

Having seen a cat successfully submit chat messages from a laptop keyboard, I can't rule that out. And "FuFu" is a common cat name. Who was winning, you or the cat?

Fufufufu is used at times in Japanime .. no clue what it means

Personally have a VERY unreliable life/Internet connection .. so at times will disappear for Weeks .. not to avoid Responsability as a player, but likely just Life getting in the way

Since, from what Ish can tell, one can play an unlimited # of games at once, it doesn't ultimately cause too much hassle if someone's an idiot and wants to stall .. just hope they time out and Lose .. if possible, use Conditional Move *granted, easier to do, for free, on GK* to plot the games end .. if the person Isn't just being a jerk, and is having issues on his/her end, then using CM will enable them to make some progress when they are able to get on-line .. and if they are a jerk, then it still speeds things up, as each move they make, simply restarts their own countdown ..

Just the random thoughts of a Drunken Ish

I would assume that "f" stands for the f word and "u" stands for "you".  Correct me if I am wrong.

IshVarLan

Coulbe .. but have seen fufufufu *or it could be just fufufu* in Games/Manga that are "clean" .. so would be Really surprised if this was the case

Not saying things don't slide through, but for it to be SO common would seem unlikely .. that said, people who "don't curse" often use cutesy little "Lol"esque letter chains that, when Actually read out, are rather vulgar .. so who knows

I've been having problems with chess.com's servers and my internet. My internet is perfectly fine, but when in the middle of a game, chess.com decides my internet is terrible despite the internet literally being full bars and running perfectly fine. I believe this problem is on their side. Same goes for ChessKid.com. If they don't fix this, I quit

I very often get opponents who abandon the game when it looks like they're losing. Very aggravating.

As the original comment is gone, I'll quote this comment. I believe "fufufufu" is a form of quiet laughter, usually suggesting mischief.

I hate it when my opponent casually quitting because they have the black piece
