Is 1100 considered a respectable and above average rating?

I consider 1600 players to be pretty bad at chess but I guess everyone disrespects heavily lower-rated players. Anyway 1100 is a decent rating to have if you're not playing tournaments.

I'm trying to be respectful but it's hard when I literally got 1100 in like my first month of playing

1239 now

ThePersonAboveYou

Average of all people in the world is certainly below 1100

ThisIsNotArnav

tbh 1100 isn't respectable but its decent

What does "respectable" mean? Anyone, at any level, is respectable.

For the rest, everyone has their own criteria for judging wheter a level is decent or not. For example, for me a good level is the one where chess starts becoming something more than a board game, or a videogame. I'd say that earning the title of Candidate Master means being a good player.

It's been known by gms that blitz rating is meaningless lol

Blitz chess ain't all about skill unfortunately for you

Nobody at my school plays chess

Apparently teachers at my school occasionally see 1-2 people playing chess at a time in class I think it does down recently tho but it happens occasionally

Crazy. My school is massive and has like 10k people but as far as I know the best players in the school are

1. Me

2. My 1600 sister 💀

They are all pretty terrible tho the most I saw was a 1200 rapid player

Rapid chess, blitz chess, and bullet chess are real chess.

What do you mean by "real " chess? In daily also just like rapid blitz and bullet there are 16 pieces per side (1 queen 2 rooks 2 bishops 2 knights and 8 pawns and a king)and there are 64 squares(32 white and 32 black). In all formats the pawn moves forward and capture diagonally(there is also en passant btw),bishop moves diagonally rook moves straight and queen moves both diagonally and straight. The king moves 1step in all directions. All pieces start in the same position. In all formats you have to develop pieces, castle, find tactics, and to win the game, checkmate the opponent.

The only difference is in daily time is more so more time to think and analyse. So just taking time to think for a longer time and play a crime?

And a 100 elo doesn't make a difference. It's similar skill.

If you are +100 your opponent then your winning chance is 64 percent and opponents chance is 36 percent. So surely there is not a huge difference but difference is there.

Ur not 1200. Ur a 900.

I am 1239.See properly.

A little offense to tell someone to see properly when you didn't google the proper definition of 1200 in REAL chess. Are you saying I'm blind? I went through the last 30 games of urs on by one.

Did you see my daily games? They are really good.I make very less blunders there.Just see my daily games. They are not GM level but still they are much much better than my rapid. And what do you say that my favourite format is fake chess?

Because u fking have a WHOLE day to think. So it should be gm level at any rating.

What's your problem with that? Why do you want to promote blunders on time?

Because you think faster and ask anyone, daily isn't "real chess." No offense intended. But try blitz. On this site. No one respects daily players. When you first join chess.com. Ur rating is already 1200-1600 by default.

Mine was 800

When I joined this site, correspondence chess was all it had. They didn’t call it correspondence then, asked members what they should call it—correspondence was the answer—and “daily” it became. I’ve played a couple of games that you don’t respect, but you don’t have any credibility that I need respect.

Of course I’ve played far more blitz and bullet and rapid. Correspondence remains a search for truth that is respected by those who understand it. Most people on this site play it as a form of rapid and freak out when someone takes three days for a move, or even worse, takes vacation to go camping.
