I remember there being some games analysed, it also asked you to predict the masters' next moves to see if you could follow their thinking, but as far as I'm aware it was nowhere near the 900 games, no.
Bet it isn't in the DS version :(

The annotations focus on being entertaining; there's no deep analysis. I guess this is helpful to get newer players looking at master games but less so for experienced players.
Chessmaster annotations:
I just wish the annotations had some teeth to them so I could compare them against my own notes and learn something. We only disagree in one place, and on that point I believe my comments are more accurate.
"But 8...Nf6 was surely more logical"
I think f4!? is more logical considering Anderssen's 7...f5. If he wanted a solid but quieter position he would have played 7...a6 8.N5c3 Nf6 instead of 7...f4. And I think 8...Nf6 is inaccurate due to 9.Bg5 and 10.Bxf6.
Well apparently there are no annotated games in the DS version...
I should be getting my copy today, but from everything I've heard things aren't going to be good...
I didn't assume it would be anywhere near as polished and impressive as the PC version, but it sounds like ubisoft just couldn't give a damn about the DS version, it apparently looks lousy, lacks virtually any features, and apart from a decent engine (which you can get on any weaker system nowadays) it looks like my worries about pre-ordering this game were well founded. Serves me right for expecting too much on a portable version I suppose, but really the lack of effort in a new version makes me wonder why they bothered with the DS at all... profit I guess...
I was just wondering, in the new version of Chessmaster (Grandmaster Edition), one of the "Key Features" is:
"Famous Games: 900 of chess's most important games presented and analyzed.".
I don't think I saw this in CM10 -- did I miss something -- did anyone else see this in CM10 or is this a new feature for the CM Grandmaster Edition?
