Depends on where the pieces are placed, but usually checkmate can be forced with B+N.

Yes, as long as the knight and bishop can't be immediately forked next move it is. Here's how you force it once the king is on the edge:

And you have to do it in 50 moves because of the 50 move rule (no captures or pawn pushes for 50 moves equals draw)
