The answer is depends.

There were already bunch of threads with the same topic, I think it's time to stop.

I cant help but notice that everyone, and I mean everyone, recently keeps handing me the bishop pair on a platter, while they want the knight pair for themselves.

And I dont even play fast time controls when this sort of preference actually makes some sense.

And no I have no preference. I can play with bishops and I can play with knights. Its no problem either way.

Yet ANOTHER thread regarding Knights and Bishops!

Some GMs have their own opinion, and once I read Bishops should be worth points, and Knights only 3. But both have diferente uses and could be better than the other in diferentes positions. In open games, centralized Bishops can control more squares than a centralized Knight, and in closed games, Knights can jump over other pieces, they aren't restricted, otherwise Bishops are not very strong in close positions, because their range is limited.

Um 1 knight can only control 8 squares and a bishop 13 i think bishops are slightly better but it all depends on the position
