My people are intimidated by blindfold, but really, it's doing the same thing we all do when we analyze a position in our mind. It's not as easy as having a board in front of you, but it's not some mystical thing that only a few elite can accomplish either.

Speaking of kettles of fish: As impressive as blindfold chess may seem, it pales in comparison to blindfold cooking.

I agree, it's just the same as analyzing variations while playing OTB. But blindfold simuls is a different case. Also chess has many 'themes' so to speak. Example someone is more of a blitz player or slow time control, defensive or offensive, tactical or positional, etc. And I think those who are good at blindfold are more of the positional player.
