My people are intimidated by blindfold, but really, it's doing the same thing we all do when we analyze a position in our mind. It's not as easy as having a board in front of you, but it's not some mystical thing that only a few elite can accomplish either. 

Now blindfold simuls? that's another kettle of fish!

Cool Speaking of kettles of fish: As impressive as blindfold  chess may seem, it pales in comparison to blindfold cooking.

I agree, it's just the same as analyzing variations while playing OTB. But blindfold simuls is a different case. Also chess has many 'themes' so to speak. Example someone is more of a blitz player or slow time control, defensive or offensive, tactical or positional, etc. And I think those who are good at blindfold are more of the positional player.Laughing

Agreed with the above.  Also, one must not become too dependant upon visual stimuli as our five senses oftentimes fool us.
