it's good

It's not good for your chess skill. Promotes sloppy strategic thinking. If you want fast, play 3+1

No

When I was a kid, we called it Speed Chess and no one took it seriously. It's chess with an asterisk. Also, I suck at it. On the plus side, it's more exciting... but, in my case, that's more like panic-inducing.

Yes, bullet chess is sooo fun! A lot of people say it's bad but I love it. Maybe it's because I'm 12 but I find it good. It's also good for tactical patterns and openings.

Bullet helps you develop quick instinct but terrible habits, who needs strategy when you have panic

I'm no one to act like your coach, but I do think it can create bad habits, as others have said. There is no way you're thinking through the lines, or playing your best game, if you're only taking a few seconds or less per move. But, I get it. Traditional chess can be boring sometimes, or even feel like a chore. And it's great that you're having fun.

Comparing Bullet to Standard is like comparing apples to oranges.

Average length of a Bullet game: 94 seconds  (according to Lichess)

Average length of a Standard game: 4 - 6 hours (according to FIDE)

I know that I'm not thinking out lines or calculating the best move but I'm completely using intuition. I think that that is a good skill as well. Imagine you are in a complicated endgame that you see a clear draw in, but you have a 5 move combination that wins a pawn. If you are playing an OTB game with only 10 seconds left you should use your intuition to take you to the draw instead of flagging while calculating the tactic. I don't think playing bullet makes me play worse in rapid or classical. I play completely differently depending on the time control. I do understand where you are coming from though, because sometimes when I have just finished a 15 game long bullet match with someone my brain is moving so quickly I can't play anything above 1+0, even blitz. I just make sure I am calm and ready to play rapid, blitz, or classical. I think bullet is only harmful if you are playing other time controls after tilting bullet.

Bullet is not good.

Or at least it’s for fun, not improvement

Bullet is by far the worst time control if you want to improve.

If youre just in chess for the enjoyment then its fine. If you're trying to improve then all bullet does is instill bad habits, shallow thinking, and poor play.

Bullet chess is good… but only in moderation, and for specific purposes.

Bullet games are fun but it’s not good for progress overall.

Bullet games are cool as a timekiller and if you dont throw chairs over your room when you lose on time having a better position
