Chess is kind of crapy
Some days, when you do badly, you wonder if you need a new hobby. Other days you feel like a everything is going your way.. Sometimes you play as well as you can, but still lose, and sometimes, you play poorly, but win because your opponent played worse. It's like any other game - what matters more than ratings is whether or not you enjoy playing.
I had a blitz game the other day against a much lower rated opponent who played the dragon.
I had a winning attack, did a typical took sac, but this gave him a tempo. My attack was still winning, but his one check drove my king out into the center. I blundered into a position I could give a perpetual, didn't see it and lost. My nerves failed me. My tactical defense is garbage.
But it was the most fun game I've had in quite awhile. Loved the suspence

Alot depends on how competitive a personality you have. I have played some players otb who don't really seem to care whether they win or lose. On the other hand i had a friend once who every time he lost a game he would stare at the end result for about 30 seconds then scream and scatter all the pieces off the board.
Myself I much more enjoy the games i win but losing one or two games in a row does not bother me much. Now when i have a day where nearly all my games are loses then that day chess is more a source of frustration than a source of fun. However the days i do well chess makes me happy.

If you think that something is crap you should just avoid it works the same way as if you would see a dogs cr... on the road you would simply avoid it. There is so many other things you can be doing right now especially if you don't even enjoy playing it.

The biggest problem with Chess for me is that, due to its age, people have discovered pretty much everything so that really, the only part of chess that is based a good part on skill is the mid game. The rest is rehearsed.
I do like the game a lot. I am not good but I like when it's a fair loss or win. I figure I am too old to be a tennis star, and too young to be a mountain hermit. So I sit here and complain when there is lag. Again, I am sorry. I am happy that comments I made made people laugh and not get me kicked off. But I am right, I have perfect internet, why I get lag? it's like trying to listen to AM radio in a Montreal snow storm.
Nukey I struggle with that too. but I just realize I can not take the time to learn all the theory. So I just play and happy if I win a game. you should too.

Also, if you don't know theory that's ok. You will end up vs folk the same rating as you. so it's fair. And it's a celebration when you win and don't break your computer when you lose. I use a soft pillow or mattress to punch.

In real life some people are straight forwarded like rooks. some peoples choose cross ways like bishops.ofcourse among them few choose the white way and few choose the dark way.some people jumps whoever on his way and go like knight.After all everybody knows that the ladies [Queens] move in all directions.some of them starts their life like pawns and by hard work and by not looking back, they got promoted. All these men have to save the king. By handling all these men, a chess player starts to know the practical life and people, and is capable of handling any men or women of any given suituation in life.
