In my opinion chess is slowly dying because a lot if people are not just thinging, they just learn it by heart and thats exactly that what makes chess debuts boring

And what is your plan about it?

I think in the last decade everything started to become dull and we are now wasting time in useless stuff and in my opinion chess had also become a little bit of old I think the chess. Com should make some major changes Am i right or not

I'm a firm believer in combining chess with russian roulette.

@damir_night don’t you think chess is in a better space than ever because of the cheer amount of players playing the game now. More and more eyes are falling on the game and people like Magnus and Hikaro are global celebrities because of it.

People have claimed Chess is dying for a very long time. However, there are probably more people playing chess now, than ever before, and more people are continuing to pick up the game.

While the numbers of players may ebb and flow, the have has plenty of life still.

Chess has more contenders today than 2000 years ago but I'd hardly call it "dead" or "dying".

Spiritually, maybe. But materially, it has never been more alive.

Definetly growing but I can see the point, more improved rules like what happened with en passant will help immensively too

Saying chess is dying is like saying mcdonalds is dying. Some people may dislike it’s food or think that there are much better options, but Mcdonalds is always going to be the top fast food chain if you like it or not. Same thing goes for chess. Some people may think it’s dying or that it’s not as good as some of the new games that come with the newer technology, but chess will always be the most popular and most well known game across the entire world.
