It would probably be among the safest sites a teen is likely to visit. I should know, I was a teen a year ago. :)

except without the  consent of parents to chat the bad guys or to accept chat malisceous words

Outside of chess.
Ignoring is a good solution.

Click on 'Tools' and then 'Add-Ons'  Search for "Adblock Plus".  Follow instructions to install, it's very simple and very useful!

yes. only if the children are trained and capable in this way, (knowing that child means from 1 to 17 years)

Before 1, and until 30 is childhood. No place on the internet is safe for unemployed 20 somethings.

wat's DDOS?

Distributed Denial of Service.  But you already knew that, didn't you?  Surprised

It's when a hacker uses compromised systems to simultaneously flood a website with frivolous queries or packet requests, effectively making that website slow down enough that serious users can't get it to respond.  It happens enough that a small group of professional and amateur I.T. people have taken steps to combat it.

For more info, see:

What parts of the internet in general are common things that people would think NOT be safe for teens?

a) abdutcion/that kind of thing stuff -> yes, not safe for teens.

Does chess.com have it? No.

b) porn -> iffy on whether or not its safe for teens. Studies are still pending.

Does chess.com have it? No.

c) Swearing -> Yes, safe for teens. Do you not believe me? Tsau hyi. There, does that make you a bad person just because you read some swear words? Nope, and neither does it make your teen a bad person just because he or she reads some.

Does chess.com have it? Generally, no. Impossible to enforce 100%, but the percentage I have seen is really low.

TheOldReb

I think chess.com is not safe FROM teens. Sealed

Not totally.

Nothing is totally safe. Infact, hospitals have recently been seeing lots of people with Wii related injuries. You know, I'd say chess.com is safer than crossing a road, and their teenagers. I'm willing to assume that they are alllowed to cross roads and chess.com is safer. So, I've come to the conclusion that it's safe.
