Is Ding Liren still playing chess?

Ding Liren has mysteriously not shiwn up at any of the recent tournaments, including the FIDE world cup, thus he will not be World Champion anymore.

redfox_2023

No, he still, but he's in a different board. Look for it on the internet

SoupSailor
He will play in the SCC, should be fun to watch. He also did play in Norway Chess quite recently.
MiguelUAB

He will still be world champion if he wins the games against the winner of the candidates tournament.

What is the point of posting complete nonsense like this?

PromisingPawns

No point, it's when they are bored and can't think of anything but want to open a post

DrSpudnik

He's doing something with chess pieces, maybe making one of those weird towers.

He just silently became the world champion. He didn't catch the lights and Carlsen is still in every chess video and is always being talked as the current world champion instead of Ding!

Kloudiz_Gaming

of course!

chinoi321

yep , he is preparing for the next candidate tournament now .

He will not play in the candidates tournament as he is not even in the FIDE world cup, which is used to qualify for candidates.

He's probably tired from all those fake matches & tournaments his federation set up just so he could get into the candidates tournament. He was in a lot of "events" just before the candidates just to "qualify". He's the first & only 2nd place finisher to be called "world champion".

Come on man.

Johan_Naude

Sorry, misunderstanding.

Ding still beat Nepo.

DreamscapeHorizons

If Carlsen had his way, there would be no classical world championship. Its too "boring and stressful."

Cobra2721

He also wouldnt have had a chance to "qualify" for the candidates if FIDE cared about peoples freedom of speech.

The same way FIDE cares about how women are treated in various countries where they can't even walk in public with anything but their eyes showing and treated as not much more than possessions of men?
