Hey everyone!
I’ve been thinking lately about how much Chess has changed because of engines like Stockfish and AlphaZero. It feels like every time I check my accuracy, I’m chasing a "computer-perfect" game rather than just enjoying the creative side of the board.
I want to hear your thoughts on a few things:
Preparation: Do you spend more time studying engine lines or actually playing and practicing tactics? 📖
The "Human" Element: Do you miss the days of "romantic" chess with crazy sacrifices, or do you prefer the modern, precise, and solid style? ⚔️
Accuracy vs. Fun: Do you get frustrated when you win a game but the engine says you made 3 "inaccuracies"? Does it even matter to you?
Personally, I feel like we are becoming "calculators" instead of players. What do you think? Are engines making us better, or are they making the game boring?
Let’s discuss below! 👇
