Is fear good or bad in chess?

It is just one of those life dirty tricks, that fear blocks ones chances of winning. Thoughts are charged with energy, especially when triggered by emotion. Fear attracts exactly that which one fears.

A strong desire for a goal that is charged with

positive energy, attracts a positive response, especially when every effort is made to attain that goal.

What do you think good people. Is it okay to play chess with fear?

TeraHammer

If your fear manifests itself in aggression it is good. If you start fleeing it is not good.

Unless you play a grandmaster with a gun.

First page, LOL.

its just a game bro, not the end of the world. I think you meant anxiety and not fear. how is it fun if there is fear?

johnyoudell

Fear does seem a very strong word.

Is it fear of losing you have in mind?

Yeapa, fear of losing. B.T.W good responses fella's...

I think that for some reason, fear can be both good and/or bad.

If you feel fear in chess you are possibly taking things too seriously. Fear of  losing? I can't imagine a scenario where there should be fear in losing a board (computer) game.

I would be scheduling a Dr. appointment if i was experiencing fear over a chess game.

I get anxious, even just playing online. I don't think it's fear of losing so much as fear of losing badly, and that I'll be judged because of it.

Seems kinda weird seeing how I'm basically anonymous on the internet, but emotion doesn't always follow the path of logic.

Bad news? Fear attracts a loss.

Good news? Fear can lead to a motivational win.

DrSpudnik

I'm afraid so.

Yeap, It pays to have experience.
