Is FIDE as corrupt as FIFA?

The presidency seems nicely sown up! There have been weird goings on re prize funds and finances in general. Is FIDE as corrupt as FIFA?

My opinion :  Most probably.     Frown

My logic :  The human nature. "An opportunity makes a thief."

NRTG

Does that mean nothing will happen until they have the audacity to award the hosting of a world championship to Russia.

As an estimate, I'd guess the order of corruption from highest to lowest would go something like this:

IOC>FIFA>FIDE

But FIDE is still pretty bad I'd say.

It's probably even more corrupt. Sport organisations in general seem to be extremely vulnerable to corruption (control of significant revenue, very little transparency and accountability, small islands states have as many votes as big federations, unlimitted president terms etc.) but the governments and sponsors at least take some interest towards the big ones FIFA and IOC. With FIDE no one outside chess really cares. Well, Russians do but they are obviously happy with the current situation.

FIFA, don't you mean alleged corruption?

Re FIDE, publish your evidence and we can make up our own minds.

A number of FIFA officials have admitted corruption so it's a bit more than just "alleged" - at least in some cases. Strictly I didn't make an allegation but asked a question: "Is FIDE as corrupt as FIFA?" It might be that FIDE is not corrupt at all, despite some rather questionable goings-on, so a little transparency on the organisation's part might serve to reassure us all!

yes

Perhaps some day will will FIND out.

I dont think so. I dont think that FIDE makes false matches at high levels with a pre-winner as it happens in football. FIDE is europe, is the center, is chess or scholastic chess.

FIDE is also corrupt , I know from an inside source but I cannot produce any " proof " .

If Bulgaria is any indication, then yes.
