1.e4 is better than 1.nc3, but 1.nc3 is better than 1.a4 atleast in my book :)

Knight,Because if the enemy move the pawn,The pawn they moved might be in attack range of your knight,and after you take the pawn,they will bring out knight to attack your knight,simple take the knight,you loose a knight,they lose a pawn and knight,your up in material
