If its a back rank mate then I'll promote to a rook to prove its capabilities on the open ranks rather than wasting the pawn on a queen 👑

if you actually find it disrespectful for your online chess opponent to underpromote a pawn then thats kinda on you

A win is a win, but I once saw a game where someone got a 2nd queen instead of mating as quickly as possible with just one and he stalemated his opponent. Mr. 2-Queens bolted out of the tournament room and I haven't seen him since. That was about 10 years ago.
