Is it worth trying to discuss Chess on here anymore?

That is the tragedy of our time, a lack of interest in deep discussions, an embarrassing tendency to shallowness, a fixation with irrelevant details that lead everyone to ignore the core of the issue.

People have always been mentally lazy and likely will continue to be. That is why they can't agree even on factual matters such as whether or not data suggests global warming is real, illegal immigration into America is up or down, or any number of easily understandable and researchable issues. They identify with a group and repeat what they are told.

.. Regretfully ; In this day-in-age ; 'Factual matters, are Not, 'Easily Researchable'! ; And, 'lazyness', is a secondary factor.

Given that, a Not inconsiderable, amount of 'factual info'; Is, in Reality ; Propaganda, supporting, a hidden agenda ; Which, among other reasons ; Is why 'Americans' submit to the rather strict, {by pre '9-11' tolerances} ; Pre-plane, boarding, searches !

.. And, Don't get me started, on All the 'False Flags', {re. 'terrorism'}.. that is, among the Other, propaganda- End-'cure' results .. Along with, All the other 'shite'.

Issues such as the two I mentioned are considered fairly important determinants of social policy here in America and a large number of people will expend enough effort advocating for one side or another that it isn't unreasonable to assume they would have taken the time to learn something about the topics. The societal norm is to acknowledge that everyone is entitled to their own opinion in regards to nearly anything, even if it is an objective question with a precise answer. The reason why this is a necessity in normal conversation but intolerable in a math class/history class is because it is implicitly understood that amongst regular people everyone likes to talk but no one likes to know anything. How else would you have a situation in America where a person's likelihood of believing that massive voter fraud is a countrywide epidemic is somehow strongly dependent not on any actual facts on the matter, but rather on the political party of the person claiming it? How is abortion related to gun control? They are completely unrelated but people who have certain opinions on one invariably have corresponding opinions on the other depending on what group they associate with and what is popular among their group. Issues such as these are more complicated and if people actually thought about them for themselves you would expect that a larger chunk of the people who were pro-life would be pro-gun control. However, as our country becomes more divided it is easy to see that peoples' views on a variety of unrelated issues are determined by others and people don't really care to form any of their own ideas.

yep, we are all sheep following the herd to a certain extent and many are not even aware of it.....I'm a politically confused myself, an economic conservative, but socially liberal.....and usually defensive at chess, not just a mindless attacker like the other 90% here....

THIS claim is an example of why so many have problems with your posts. You pick one one fact, then assume you know everything about it when those of us who have been REAL students of the game realize you didn't do your homework and you come to conclusions that make no sense. Then you pontificate, assume you are educating people who don't know anything, and make strange claims as if you believe you're the only one who understands them.  One example is your claim that a 1200 rating makes you an expert - or is it chess master?

If someone wrote here that Canada (I attended the Univ. of Toronto) is in the far north and therefore the whole country is covered with ice and trapping beaver fur and hunting moose were the main occupations, I'm sure you would be very insulted at not only the ignorance, but that the person making the claim assumes he knows everything about Canada despite not bothering to properly check his assumptions.

THAT is the reaction to many of your posts.  Try being a little more humble and realize you don't know it all. NONE of us do. You will learn more that way.  Note that Socrates finally realized the Oracle of Delphi was right that he was the wisest man on earth when he realized he was the only major citizen who realized how little he knew.

Trolls would not survive if true chessplayers did'nt respond to their nonsensical threads,e.g. "why can't I uncastle" .This assinine thread has over 700 responses.

Let's restart the discussion. When will the Chess Virus epidemic ends? Will GM Trump retain US Chess Federation Leadership?

GM Chump will claim it was a "perfect game" and then the arbiter will release a score sheet he himself redacted which shows upwards of... a dozen legal moves were made. "Wow, a dozen is impressive" remark his fans.

GM Chump challenges anyone to Chess Wrestling! His wrestler partner is the same person he used against McMahon.
