Chichen Itza eh Mick, I went to Tulum (the only city the Mayans built on the coast...it's a mystery) back in 1985....flew from Cancun where I was scuba diving for one day....lucked out because I meet an 80 (+ or -) year old man who was an expert on Mayan culture (he said he wrote books on it...now what was his name?) and just hung out with him for the day...he liked me because I am a Geologist (M.S. New Mexico Tech 1982)...got a free tour and explanation.
Found, on Google's, News Page; Search-word -'chess'.. Page, 2.
A jr. high chess tourney, in 'Kansas', this past 'Saturday'{?} .. Considering, what the other diversions, must be, in 'Hays', Ks. - Probably, Not a bad idea ! .. {one picture, accompanying the article}.

I'm not sure if we are even talking about the topic that the title mentions, and I am too lazy to look through all 9 pages, although I did read the first two. My thought is that if you don't want trolls all over your forum and want to talk chess, put the forum in "endgame study," or "game analysis." I have visited those and the people there are quite serious about chess, although there still are some trolls.

But surely General Chess discussion should be exactly that, general chess discussion.

Thank you, not only do these trolls derail threads, they are also opening a plethora of threads that really should be placed in the off-topic section.
I have been naive and have "fed" them from time to time, but after a while I realized that attention is the fuel to their fire, so I just ignore them now.

There is no need for rudeness Ronald. My life may seem boring by your standards, but you have to accept the fact that everybody is different. I love Chess, that is my passion. I don't have time for NASCAR or TV shows. The reason I joined Chess.com was to find people like myself, who are passionate about the game and wish to discuss it. Unfortunately, I have ran into more trolls than into people who share my passion. This is the reason I created this thread. I came here to find myself, and find a place where I can finally fit in. Like you said, to the common man I have no sense of humor or personality. I joined Chess.com to escape the ridicule that I face in my day to day life, and find a safe haven. I hope this helps you understand me better.
