Is it hard to reach 1600 in Bullet?

From the rank distribution, only about 150,000 players achieve this rank in bullet. I'd say that a difficult group to get into.

Based o upon the number of people who achieve it, I'd estimate that 1600 in bullet is about the 1900 grade for Blitz.

There some wiggle room in that estimate because not every 1900+ Blitz player will be be 1600+ in Bullet but without any other data I think it's a reasonable first guess.

I have not played bullet that much. Its not my main thing. But I would like the numbers to be even. So I have manage to get to 1600 in 3 min Blitz. Is it hard to get the bullet rating to this numbers to? I am around 1350 or something like that now in Bullet.
One thing about bullet is that it requires consistency. In a quick game (especially 1|0), the game could turn from a proper chess battle into a battle of who clings on to the time remaining. Once it turns into a time battle, inconsistency starts to creep in, since anyone could lose on time. One moment you think you had the game bagged on position, but the next moment you realise you have five seconds remaining and are unable to convert the position as a result.

Went up to 1420 today. I stopped premoving the opening and instead played it out fast. Also I stopped playing an opening that I used only for bullet and started to play what I normaly play in Blitz and Rapid. I think I will be faster if I play what I usually play because then I have to think less. So now I am at all time high and I think I can go higher with some practice in Bullet. My goal is 1600 but now I have a subgoal and that is to reach 1500.

Yeah when I have like 3-5 seconds left I just do random moves. Like running pawns no matter if they get captured or not and I try to stay away from getting checked since it will slow me down. So when I have 3 seconds left I just focus on moving as fast as possible and I try to slow down my opponent if I can by doing weird moves.

1450 now! Jesus they play for cheap tricks, like they sacrifice the bishop on f7 just to buy some time but its not really that hard to survive that

The rating differences between formats is a very personal thing and varies alot between different players. For example I absolutely suck at blitz so my bullet is a 100 points higher and rapid is significantly higher. Could be because blitz is the format I play most casually tho, hard to say

I was over 1800, had not played bullet in nearly a year, and managed to get to 1600 in about two days.
I’d say from that experience that getting up to and over 1600 can be quite challenging.

In one minute, yes. Play 1 1 and you’ll see less of this garbage.

My peak bullet rating was 1570 or so...
If you want to improve at bullet play lichess Hyperbullet arenas and get thrashed by 2000s+
You will occassionally face some insanely fast/stupid players as well, and learn to deal with their tricks and pure speed rather than dismiss them as "garbage"...
But definitely the lichess 1 pre-move at a time thing helps improve speed and composure.
I am now not pushing for bullet improving at all because I find it distracts me from the mindset I want to be in for Rapid... But I am happy that I am un-flaggable in 3+0 (against an equal opponent) thanks to some 30 sec grinds on lichess...

Ohh we played that is so cool. I remember that game, I hung my bishop for no reason because I wanted to trap your bishop but I guess it works out anyway. It is so messy to play bullet. No time to think just act and react =)
