Is it impolite to resign when you are in a winning position?

Is it?

Moreover, is it impolite to ask someone to do something that is or may be impolite?

Politeness is in the eye of the beholder

It is impolite to pretend to be stupid.

I agree! That's why I never pretend to be stupid!

Pretending to be stupid, for short term gains, for a long enough period of time, will render it into a permanent condition.

Like Aristotle (I think) said, we are what we repeatedly do.

that's like saying repeatedly eating carrots makes you a carrot eater. hmmmmmm, actually i like that!

If you were playing a woman, it would be impolite if you resigned before her, gentlemen know it's always "ladies first".

I have a PhD in human anatomy. I believe the "mess" you speak of is called the spleen.

Soemtimes RL intervenes, and I need to leave.

Instead of just logging without warning, I take 4 seconds, to click the "resign" button.

Is only polite.

Oh, that is terrible! I certainly hope it's not irreversible, and someday you find a way to get better!

So eating, drinking, and taking sh#ts defines an individual?

Well, yeah... those are the things that allow an individual to exist.

I suppose permanent means permanent.

Once you have made yourself stupid, there's no way back.

We are what we do.

In the words of the great philosopher, Frank Sinatra, "do be do be do".

Well Aristotle should have been more specific. 8 billion people do those three things repeatedly.

nobody can be stupid per se, they can only be more or less stupid than something less or more stupid. it's all relativity, ask einstein. you might need a medium though. at the core we are nothing.

So... you can go from not stupid to stupid, but not the other way around?

Ok, if you say so.

It's more of a philosophical point about what you choose to do.

It is not impolite. It's just plain silly..
