Is it just me or chess isn't the same anymore?

Now my inbox is getting bombed by some Indian people's trash talk. Bro didn't even get what I am talking about, he thinks the case was me supporting Ding lmao.
Creating alt accounts to send that kind of messages to my inbox shows how respectful Gukesh fans are.
And the funny part is, I can guess who this guy is.

It's a little anowing to think that the world champion is not actually the best
Thats true for almost everything. There's always someone out there whos better at what you do.

wanna play against me vertemes to really see who's a champion
??? I wasn't saying that I was, I was just saying that no matter how good you are, there's always someone better.

To me, chess is just a way to relax. I did watch all 14 WCC games this year and to me, honestly, I don’t think both players have the spirit to play for the win. Gukesh might seems like an 18 years old full of potential, but the draws and missed chances in the WCC just make chess less entertaining as it was. Back when Fischer and Kasparov was playing WCC, it were much more interesting with all the fantastic ideas and tactics. I think that the existence of Stockfish and all the chess engines were all to blame. In the 1970s, there are no chess supercomputers, so there would be more novelties and interesting ideas. Nowadays, players prepares with supercomputers, and all the lines they play are from supercomputers that makes no sense and making chess less, humane. Along with people cheating and accusing each other of cheating rather than enjoy the game, I think chess itself can be said broken. My opinion is that chess supercomputers should not be used for tournament preparation, let human chess players do their human thing of creativity. For the time control part, I still think that classical should stay just for the chance that people might abandon supercomputers in the future and do the thinking for themselves. Rapid and blitz is already getting popular so that was the fun part with the Grand Chess Tour and World Rapid and Blitz.

#1 Ding -Gukesh was not boring. You just do not understand it. #2 Nothing will change if Magnus will return or not. #3 Classical is always the main time control. #4 Chess sites are stopping cheaters since year 2001. #5 Chess sites today are perfect.

My experience is a different one:
"it wasn't really fun to watch them."
Actually, I found the match to be more interesting to watch. Unlike the Magnus games, in the Ding-Gukesh match the outcome wasn't clear. Besides, they played a lot of different openings (even the French) which in my opinion was more fun than watching the Berlin or the Petroff game after game.
"And after Magnus said that he withdraws from being the World Champion, chess started getting boring"
I hear you. But that's just a phase. After Kaparov lost to Kramnik there was also a decade with several players (Anand, Kramnik, Topalov) being equally strong... Wait a few more years and one of these Indian kids will emerge as the clear #1.
"everything is getting faster, most people aren't patient enough to watch the whole classic game, so I think Chess could also get a little faster and rapid could become the main time control."
The WC still generated more interest than other formats. And there are already plenty of rapid and blitz events.
"As a professional, it's not boring for me to watch classic chess, because I can see what they're trying to do,"
Uhm... Professional? According to your FIDE page you're rated 1550, no?

1. I've played only one classical tournament.
2. Unlike in other countries, there are some nations where it is very hard to gain elo, because chess players here are very strong. For example, my Romanian friend is in the same level with me, but while he has 1900+ rapid elo, mine is only 1600.
3. Chess isn't even my main thing, so I don't really care about my elo at the moment. If I take it serious, I'd be 2200+ for all time controls on chess.com, and probably 1800+ FIDE in a few months.
Just like how I was a 1700 a while ago, then I took it serious and reached 2140+ bullet easily.

Cheating isn't a big problem at the moment, but in a few years, it will be.
You should've seen how rampant cheating was online in the late 90s / early 2000s ... (I'm looking at you, Yahoo Chess!)

I see, I guess you mean that you play competitive chess. "Professional" usually refers to strong players (mainly GMs) making a living out of chess. Anyway, good luck on your journey.
This sounds like a more if a personal opinion and experience than something more general (for the most part). You started watching chess at a certain time and your favourite players are slowly stepping aside, which is normal. I do agree tho that the world championship doesn't have the same intrigue when the true best player chooses not to participate. It is what it is - Magnus doesn't have to return tho, with time the situation will correct itself and even Magnus will be replaced.
I've seen too many people thinking the same with me (on social media and irl) that's why I made a forum, to see what people on Chess.com think.
