Is it possible to deliver checkmate in 1 move?

Sort:
PLAYERIII

Even if the pieces are incorrectly placed, it’s impossible to have mate in the first move.

@PLAYERIIIcorrect is probably what you were trying to say

PeterMisiu

If you think it is impossible to checkmate in one move, guess THIS!

And do Puzzles!

Not telling you the answer! Thats what makes chess FUN.

PeterMisiu

There are a few different possible answers: wq.pnga8#, wq.pngb8#, wq.pngc8#, wr.pnga8#

Ramjet-1

It's possible, but you have to be a grandmaster to know how to do it.

Ramjet-1

The fastest possible checkmate is called Fool's Mate.

lol

there are 400 positions after 1 move for white and black, and 20 after 1 move for white

that's 420 positions, and none of them are checkmate

420 blaze it

No. Incorrect. It's like if the king was on f8, rook on g8, queen on a8, etc.

How were we supposed to know that you talking about any given position?

PeterMisiu

@Ramjet-1, you do not need to be a grandmaster for that. E.g. @pawelmusial1 and @Krokodile3 are not grandmasters yet, but they know how to x

PeterMisiu

Checkmate. I do too, and I have a rating of 100-300

Another way would be to send an email to your opponant before you begin the game.

Make the subject line ‘Sign’

Urge them to reply. The subject line will be RE:Sign

Accept their resignation with a firm handshake
