Of course it's embarassing but rude? It's only rude if you're doing it repeatedly to annoy your opponent. If you are at the board and it's your move, just fart and apologize afterwards and everything is fine

no, but I'd love to see the suggestions nonetheless. i mean i could go on kaynight's thread about the hurricane, but lets face it, the guy who spends his days writing negative comments suddenly activates his heart chakra to feel compassion, nah who needs the hypocrisy. lets see, maybe we could start a serious thread about chess ? the chit chat will make us all better players until pfren comes along and calls us a bunch of patzers.

Or, not to drink too many beans! I am starting to think this post may have many more threads, who ever started it should be proud!! would one ever think it would have gone this far??? it must be that most are older then 12 year old that see the deeper meaning of the question. And keep in mind, one can really have a problem mistaking a fart, and end up pooping!!

farting at the chessboard is highly inappropriate, you might knock over some pieces. do it in the opposite direction of the board, stand up because if you do it sitting down it might be much louder as it could bounce off the chair. get up, grab your bum, part your cheeks a little as this reduces air friction, cough as loud as you can and let your wind go free.
