Is it unusual.....

...for someone's Online rating to be a few hundred points worse than their Standard, Blitz and Bullet ratings?

Granted, each one is different from the other. The ratings don't necessarily equate to one another. However, on this site, Online tends to be the highest rating a person has.

Today is the first time I have come across someone with an Online rating so much lower than the others.

if they are playing quickly, then yes, that is possible.

Yeah maybe, it seems more logical that the online rating would be better. For me personally, I take much more time to look at online moves or even come back later if I'm not sure what the best course is. Maybe standard rating being better or equal to online is more common.

I do find that If I'm focusing on one game the moves flow better and so maybe a players standard rating could surpass the online one more often than bullet for example.

I play to win every time, every game, anywhere, anyway (excluding cheating of course).  My rating is around 200 points lower (on averge) for online chess vs. all my live chess ratings.  The time is a big issue for people, and they can't use databases, analyze, or use any other tools that they can in online games.
