"And good chess players are the barbarians, whereas the patzers are the artists that know how to appreciate a work of chess art."
I am stating that if tactics brought you to a higher level, it was all in vain. Look at the tactical shot response below. In short, GM's won't be giving you too many "tactical shots".
"When you see a winning tactical shot, restrain your barbaric urges and play something less forcing. It's the civilized thing to do."
Considering GM's probably don't give away too many tactical shots, you won't have to restrain. Are you saying GM's use tactical shots when they draw? That's when both sides have played to a point they can see the draw, not the win. Are you claiming the tactics features on this site (or elsewhere) can train us to be like GM's and draw?
That wouldn't be as profitable to sites like this where people can come to "win" and then rematch when they lose. They are seeking tactical shots to win in the short run. In the long run they will have to do something else.
"Once you understand what tactics are, you need to recognize them independent of the game plan."
And as I asked earlier in this post, will they help me draw? Because I am not going to be able to use these tactics up against a grandmaster. Do you think you could? Do you actually think a grandmaster playing at their best would give away a position that is in the tactics trainer?
And I agree about needing to recognize them independent of the game plan. So, in that case, why not present current games being played and analyze those with the tactics trainer? Is this an available feature?
Look at the Shimanov - Kamsky game from today (king´s gambit), and see how many tactical shots were missed by the grandmasters.
They happen all the time.
This is one of them:
Black to play and win:
