People often say that a good training could be playing againt computer. But, is that true, because it might be some nostalic or over-rated method that people continues to suggest. Is not playing against other player better, because you can see twice the number of errors from your rating, then learning faster? Please, tell me, people that are better than me, what are your suggestions. Full time on online, 90% online 10%pc, 80%online 20%pc... ?

I have never played against a chess engine; I have never analysed a game afterwards with a chess engine; I have never owned a chess engine. Until you become a strong player I don't believe there is much to gain from it. Humans 100%.

I think it's better to play against humans, who are within -100 to +300 of your rating (+100 to +200 is best), for training games. If I'm preparaing an opening, I do play a few pratice games with a computer, but I don't think it's entirely neccesary. Just depends.

Main thing is to analyze your games carefully, no matter who or what you play them with.
