And I have something to confess to you, too.  I'm not really a nun.  I'm a certified public accountant, my name is Fred, I'm gay, and I'm on my way to a costume party.

/shrug - I don't have my real name on here right now but I have no hesitation about doing so. If someone from these forums wants to show up to my house to cause trouble, well then - There'll be trouble. All good.

You know every time you buy something with a card you are giving not only your name, but card number with expiration date and 3 digit cvv code the back to a complete stranger. How is that safe?

Isn't there about a million new cases of identity theft every year?
"Identity theft" isn't just your name.  Its things like credit card fraud.
Putting personal information on the web - fuels other crimes too.

Normally - it isn't good to tell falsehoods -
but in a situation where one really needs email options -
should one's real personal information be provided to any email server?
Try - No.

Attention all Fortnite Gamers, John Wick is in great danger, and he needs YOUR help to wipe out all the squads in the tilted towers. To do this, he needs a gold SCAR and a couple of chug-jugs. To help him, all he needs is your credit card number, the three numbers on the back, and the expiration month and date. But you gotta be quick so that John can secure the bag, and achieve the epic victory ROYAL

Several ways to determine that posting personal information (like your full legal name) -
on the internet - isn't safe.
The hard way.  The thinking-observing-listening way.  By intuition.
By someone you care about or know getting hit hard - by commonsense ..
That's five so far.
And regarding John Wick movies - huge numbers of bad guys always hesitate enough -
even simultaneously -so that he can shoot them.  happy.png

Is it exactly the wisest choice to put your full name on here? I was wondering because a lot of people do it (not including me)

It is perfectly safe. Please include your birthday.
