Idk what you're asking but rooks are generally worth more. So they have a more vital role than knights.

Knights can jump over pieces, yes, but their speed is slower and square control less compared to that of rooks. Rooks can move as far as they want to horizontally or vertically on the board, provided there isn't a piece in the way.
