I recently reset my puzzle ratings without much thought beyond "I wonder how long it will take to get to where I was before".
Then I realized the magnitude of what I had done as it cleared my highest rating, time spent on puzzles, the list of puzzles I had solved, and most likely the count towards my "Puzzle Addict" award (10,000 correct answers).
My fault for interpreting this as a simple way to reset the ratings without affecting my past accomplishments.
That being said, what's the point of resetting the ratings? Why do we even get the option (unlike for games)? Do some people do it on a regular basis?
I've done it a few times in the past, sometime to see how quickly I could get back to where I was, partly to get some lower rated puzzle practice in, without using the training mode.
It's been a while since I've done it, but didn't think it reset your highest rating, just everything else.
