Is there a name for the system used for player game records? W L D (+ - = )

Hah, an interesting question.
I suppose with no context, it would look very odd to see something like +100 -50 =3
You'd think 100 minus 50 is just 50
Haha yeah. At first glance, I didn't understand what the whole + - = meant.

Oops, I copied the wrong thing for Carlsen, I had a bunch of tabs open. Fixed now!

For example, on chessgames, Magnus Carlsen's record is =
Overall record: +721 -272 =788 (62.6%)*
* Overall winning percentage = (wins+draws/2) / total games in the database. 1721 exhibition games, blitz/rapid, odds games, etc. are excluded from this statistic.
-----
Chess has the ELO system, Glicko system, etc. for ratings, ECO codes for openings, algebraic notation, descriptive notation for game moves....
So is there an official name for this system that uses + for wins, - for losses and = for draws? and is it used in other games/sports?
