I have NEVER resigned a game on chess.com. I’m not a quitter. If there was an emergency I would tell them, and then draw.

For this*

What if they decline draw

See my reply on the post above or are you adding to what I said??

Fun Fact: OK stands for Olla Kalla or Oll Korrect

The objective of the game is whatever any individual chooses it to be.  Someone can make it their objective to capture a Bishop, if they really want!

I think you meant to say that you share his opinion.

I suppose so. I share the opinion of chess.com. I share the opinion of Wikipedia. I share the opinion of the rules of chess. I share the opinion of FIDE, I share the opinion of USCF, etc.

Some people resign for fun, so try to avoid them

That's called sandbagging, and they'll get banned soon enough.

I’m with CleverOak. My last 4 games have ended with early resignation as soon as I make a good move or two and take an advantage, with the game far from over. It an option, if you don’t like it then choose another challenge so you can quit as soon as your not winning.

Thank you. Finally someone reasonable.

I said why there is no resign confirmation when you are playing correspondence

fred1259

At least you win if they resign

fred1259

That basically declining a draw

People would just quit anyway if a resignation were rejected. Plenty of people do that anyway, instead of resigning.

this would be so cool if there was a reject the resignation button

It would certainly appeal to sadists. And perhaps to masochists as well.
