Perhaps in the past, but some of the awards have been bugged for quite a while and cannot be obtained now, so it would apparently be impossible for a new player to collect every award nowadays.

I think they are pretty useless to have as apparently you can't showcase them. Unless they allow to showcase them on the profile, I don't see the benefits of grinding them.
