chess, call it blitz strategy ;-)
Is this unfair?

I'd prefer a draw in that position, but many people are averse to drawing for some reason, in which case anything goes.

No, that's what blitz chess is.
Along the same lines, as you get lower on time, say under 60 seconds, it's better to stop looking for good moves and go for complications (like an attack) or if you can maybe build a fortress. Either way, something that lets you use less time than your opponent.
Of course some people play the whole blitz game this way, and it's not ineffective either heh.

I think he beat the damn piano player because the piano player was playing the piano.
I actually listened to Taimanov(the guy Fischer won) playing the piano. He's quite good.

Taimanov was a concert-grade piano virtuoso. He was also a very interesting player--not in the Fischer/Botvinnik class, but very good for a long time. I once read his book of collected games: he's a very good annotator, accurate, humorous at times, and generous in praising his opponent's good moves
The piece I heard was Chopin(corrijean's video triggered that memory). He plays with much feeling!

Wow, a concert pianist and a high level chess player. Color me impressed.
Don't uber-talented people like him make you wonder, shit what have I done with my life.
The type who are highly motivated, intelligent, and only need 5 hours of sleep? Yeah I hate those people
In blitz if both players are really low in time (10 seconds-) is it rude to go suicidal with your pieces just to drag your opponent out of premove and get them to lose on time?
